Mill museum in Saarburg
Saarburg
Below the waterfall in Saarburg, the water wheels of the Hackenberger Mill from the 13th/14th century are turning. Originally, there was an oil mill, a fulling mill, and a grain mill operating here. Grain was ground here until 1974. In the basement of the mill, visitors can see the many gears that are connected to the grinding stone on the upper floor by a leather belt. In the upper rooms, various grinding devices and other equipment can be seen, gradually producing finer flour from the ground grains. Film screening: "From Grain to Flour".

Our Tip: The museum opens with a new informative explanatory film that highlights the dynamic history of the building. Visitors learn not only about the former significance of the mill for the region but also gain a brief insight into the fascinating functioning of the facility.

Business hours
The Mill Museum is open from April 4, 2026, to the end of October, Tuesday to Sunday, and on public holidays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Mondays are closed.
Admission:
€2.00 for individuals, €1.50 for youths/students, €4.50 for families
