Concert - the golden twenties

Please board! - The journey begins on a tram and leads straight into a time of departure and uncertainty, between social hardship and the desire for a new life.

Alexandra von der Weth (vocals), Roland Techet (piano), and Frank Schablewski (narration) combine music, literature, and narrative imagery for an evening created especially for the Kulturgießerei and the Cultural Summer of Rhineland-Palatinate. 

Featured are works by Kurt Weill, Hanns Eisler, Eduard Künneke, and Paul Hindemith, along with texts by Stefan George, Rainer Maria Rilke, Thomas Mann, Hermann Hesse, Alfred Döblin, Gottfried Benn, and Kurt Schwitters. This creates an evening that ranges between jazz, cabaret, literature, and the big questions of a tumultuous time. Or as Roland Techet describes it: “We bring the perfume of Berlin in the 1920s to Saarburg.”
