New Year's hike organised by the Wiltingen hiking club

Hike of the hiking friends Wiltingen to Thiels Castle in Trier. The hiking distance is 6 km and is classified as "easy".

Meeting point is at 1:30 p.m. on the parking lot below the Wiltingen cemetery on the bypass road at the Saarbank. From there, carpooling to the outskirts of Trier-Tarforst will be arranged.

From there, the tour starts at 2:15 p.m. and leads over field paths with views of Neu-Kürenz to Thiels Castle. Afterwards, it goes down along the vineyards to the historic wine-growing estate Avelsbach. The listed Art Nouveau building impresses with its architecture and has a long tradition of viticulture. Via an idyllic meadow path along the Aveler stream, we return to the starting point. All hikers, including non-members, are warmly welcome.
