Court festival at the Würtzberg winery

At the farm festival on the Würtzberg in Serrig, guests can expect a diverse Sunday with Saar wines, live music, and culinary specialties from the food truck “Peter’s Diner” featuring Black Angus burgers and various sides. Coffee, cake, and waffles are offered by the friends' association of the Kita Serrig. For children, there will be face painting, outdoor games, and a button-making machine. The farm festival takes place in any weather.

Admission is free.

The estate in Serrig is a facility for people with disabilities from the region, featuring a residential complex, various agricultural buildings, stables, and workshops (including a basket weaving workshop and a butcher shop).

The former Prussian estate from 1898, with its listed chateau character perched high above the Saar, is the first winery on the Saar. The siblings Felix and Annalena Heimes run the family business together. The most important Great Vineyards are the Ockfener Bockstein, Serriger Herrenberg & Serriger Würtzberg. At present, the Heimes family cultivates about 17 hectares of vines. The grape varieties are Riesling, Weissburgunder, Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder and Auxerrois. The vinotheque is open weekly. The wines of the Würtzberg vineyard can be tasted there. In addition, events are regularly held at the winery.

Schloss Saarstein is a real German château! Rather unusual by German standards, the vineyard here is located in the centre of a rounded vineyard site with similar exposure and uniform soil.

Hammer loop

Far less well-known than the "Saar Loop in Mettlach" but at least as spectacular is the Hammer Loop near Taben. If you stand 200 metres above at the "Schöne Aussicht" in Serrig, you will be fascinated by the unique panorama.

Not quite as well known as the Saarschleife, but no less spectacular is the view from the Schönen Aussicht onto the Saar, which also forms a beautiful loop here.
