Serrig

The former Prussian estate from 1898, with its listed chateau character towering high above the Saar, is the first winery on the Saar. Siblings Felix and Annalena Heimes run the family business together. The most important grand cru vineyards are Ockfener Bockstein, Serriger Herrenberg & Serriger Würtzberg. Currently, the Heimes family cultivates about 17 hectares of vineyard area. The grape varieties are Riesling, Weissburgunder, Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Auxerrois. The vinotheque is open weekly. There, the wines of Weingut Würtzberg can be tasted. In addition, regular events take place at the winery.

Opening hours of the wine shop:

Monday-Friday 2.00-5.00 p.m., Saturday 10.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m.

The Atelier Puricelli is open until mid-December 2026 and offers Würtzberg wine and small snacks to share and enjoy.

Serrig

With the vineyard railway, you travel along the 1.2 km circular route of the farm estate to the open pig and cattle enclosures as well as the goose and duck pond.

The estate in Serrig is a facility for people with disabilities from the region, featuring a residential complex, various agricultural buildings, stables, and workshops (including a basket weaving workshop and a butcher shop).

Viewpoint "Schöne Aussicht"

Not quite as well known as the Saarschleife, but no less spectacular is the view from the Schönen Aussicht onto the Saar, which also forms a beautiful loop here.

Location: between Serrig and Greimerath on the K 139.

Hammer loop

Far less well-known than the "Saar Loop in Mettlach" but at least as spectacular is the Hammer Loop near Taben. If you stand 200 metres above at the "Schöne Aussicht" in Serrig, you will be fascinated by the unique panorama.
