St. Rochus Wine Festival in Nittel

The largest wine festival on the Upper Moselle offers a diverse program.

From Friday to Monday, showmen, live music, market stalls, gastronomy, and winemakers create a unique atmosphere.

Highlights include the proclamation of the 22nd Saar-Upper Moselle wine royals on Saturday evening, as well as the 20th German-Luxembourg wine happening with free boat passage between Nittel (DE) and Machtum (LUX) on Sunday.

The farm with its land was originally a monastery of the St Irminen monastery in Trier. Its eventful history goes back to the time of Napoleon. The keystone of the barn, which was built in 1807, bears witness to the expansion and was preserved even after the remodelling in 1956. The business is now run by the sixth generation of the family. Peter Leo Hein successfully completed the master farmer's examination before his apprenticeship as a winemaker and subsequent master winemaker.

The Befort winery has its own, old classic sparkling wine production - Elbling-Pinot Noir, Rosé Crémant.

Welcome! Since 1752, the Dosterts and their ancestors have been cultivating vineyards on the southern Moselle. Originally, farming was also practiced alongside viticulture.
