Wild about Hiking

As part of the Moselsteig wish routes, Saar-Obermosel-Touristik is hosting a guided hike on the Moselsteig side trip "König-Johann-Runde" in Freudenburg for all lovers of enjoyment and nature.The 12 km long route is named after the Count of Luxembourg, King Johann the Blind of Bohemia, who built a castle in Freudenburg in the 14th century.
The path leads through a varied landscape with many viewpoints and vistas extending as far as Luxembourg and France. In addition to the castle, which is perched on a massive sandstone rock, other highlights include the "Kollesleuker Switzerland" with its steep Buntsandstein cliffs in various shapes, the 440-meter-high, nature-protected "Eiderberg," and the Leukbachtal with several small cascading "waterfalls" and historical mills.
The start and finish of the hike is at Andrea Bauer-Fisseni and Klaus Marx's Herrenmühle in Kollesleuken. Upon arrival, a pear sparkling wine made from the pears of their own orchards will be served before embarking on the varied tour.
Along the way, three wines will be served by cultural and wine ambassador Marita Geltz, who accompanies the entire hike. At the grill hut, a snack in the form of wild bratwurst will be provided before tackling the last kilometers back to the Herrenmühle and Andrea Bauer-Fisseni and Klaus Marx's "Wildling" station.
Upon arrival, hikers can look forward to a soup and the opportunity to taste the many other products from the two orchard managers in a cozy atmosphere.
Price:
55.00 € per person including guided hike, a pear sparkling wine, three wines (with bread and water), wild bratwurst & soup (each with bread), and tasting of products from the orchard at “Wildling”.
