Culinary kickoff to the Saar Riesling Summer 2026.

Before the 11 stations along the Saar open their doors on the weekend, the Saar Riesling Summer begins with a special evening above the rooftops of Saarburg.

Under the motto "Napoli meets Saar," guests can expect an exclusive 4-course menu by Vincenzo Di Tuoro, accompanied by selected wines from the Saar and stylish musical accompaniment by Bauer’s Brass Band.

In a special atmosphere at the historic Saarburg, this evening kicks off the wine weekend with Italian hospitality, regional wines, and impressive views over the Saar Valley.

The seats are limited. Early reservation is recommended.

Schloss Saarstein is a real German château! Rather unusual by German standards, the vineyard here is located in the centre of a rounded vineyard site with similar exposure and uniform soil.

The former Prussian estate from 1898, with its listed chateau character perched high above the Saar, is the first winery on the Saar. The siblings Felix and Annalena Heimes run the family business together. The most important Great Vineyards are the Ockfener Bockstein, Serriger Herrenberg & Serriger Würtzberg. At present, the Heimes family cultivates about 17 hectares of vines. The grape varieties are Riesling, Weissburgunder, Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder and Auxerrois. The vinotheque is open weekly. The wines of the Würtzberg vineyard can be tasted there. In addition, events are regularly held at the winery.
