Winery Zilliken

Nittel

The special connection to the vines and the grape juice has grown over several generations. The estate was founded in 1881 by the ancestor Jean-Baptiste Hellers. In the adjoining former stable buildings, sparkling wine production began in 1983, which was later moved to Trier due to lack of space. Today you will find the estate restaurant "Die Sektscheune," which offers not only sparkling wines and wines but also regional culinary delights.

Since 2009, the new generation – Patrick Zilliken along with his wife Martina – has taken over the estate from the parents. After an apprenticeship at St. Urbans-Hof and with the Bishop's wineries in Trier, Patrick Zilliken was trained as a technician for viticulture and oenology in Bad Kreuznach, and then worked in Luxembourg and South Africa before joining the family business in 2006. The guesthouse and the estate restaurant "Die Sektscheune" are still run by the parents Anne and Stephan Zilliken.
