Our Winery

We
We, the sisters Tanja and Silke Permesang, have been running the Permesang winery since 2016, with our parents Karl (sadly passed away in 2022) and Margret behind us. Our goal is to continue the tradition, in a more modern guise and with proven quality.

The Origin
The Permesang family has been engaged in viticulture for 300 years. With a long tradition, we dedicate ourselves to producing original and authentic Riesling wines. The buildings of the current winery were constructed in 1860, and the historical wine cellar was added around 1900.

The Foundation
Our grapes ripen in prime and steep locations along the Saar, in the wine village of Filzen. The foundation is a fertile slate soil, which retains the warmth of sunlight particularly well. Our old vines were planted between 1969 and 1972.

Our Craft
We tend to our "old vines" exclusively by hand. Cultivation takes place according to natural and beneficial insect-friendly plant protection, meaning a complete renunciation of any herbicides. Even bottling and labeling of the bottles is still done by hand in our winery.

The Wine
Our wines reflect the typical Saar wine character: sparkling, mineral, and racy. In the winery, the motto is: Less is more!
We allow our wines the time in the barrel that they need to develop their full flavor.
