Moselsteig Detour Wehrer Rosenberg

Hike with magnificent views of the Moselle and Luxembourg. A special experience is the via ferrata, which leads over steep limestone cliffs and narrow vineyard terraces.
From the parking lot at the Wehr train station, the path initially leads along the Moselle river to the Helterbach mouth. After passing under the railway and crossing the Helterbach, it goes steeply uphill to the Wehr dam and the remains of an early medieval refuge castle. At the Helfanter Mill, the bed of the Spirzinger Bach is crossed on stepping stones. Through the wild romantic Helterbach valley, the path leads to the Wehrer Rosenberg vineyard. The steep ascent with ladders and cable protections is rewarded with a magnificent view at the pavilion. Comfortable downhill, with beautiful views of the Moselle valley, the path then leads back to the parking lot at the Wehr station.
