Moselsteig Side Trail Wehrer Rosenberg

Hike with wonderful views of the Moselle and Luxembourg. This climbing route is a special experience, leading over steep limestone rocks and narrow vineyard terraces. From the car park at the railway station Wehr, the trail first runs along the banks of the Moselle up to the mouth of the Helterbach. After a railway crossing and crossing over the Helterbach, the trail runs steeply uphill to the lock at Wehr and the remains of an Early Medieval stronghold. At the Helfanter Mühle (Mill), you cross the Spirzinger river bed over stepping stones. The trail continues through the wild and romantic Helterbach Valley to the Wehrer Rosenberg vineyard. The steep climb on step ladders and rope backups is rewarded with a magnificent view at the Pavilion. The descent offers a comfortable hike with beautiful views of the Moselle Valley and finally ends at the car park at the Wehr railway station.
