Moselsteig Detour Saar-Riesling-Steig

Forests, meadows, vineyards, and wide views.

The Saar-Riesling-Steig impresses with its variety of landscape and nature experiences and the fascinating views into the Saar valley. Sunny vineyards in well-known good wine locations alternate with dense deciduous and coniferous forests and idyllic stream valleys. As a special feature, the Saar-Riesling-Steig offers hikers three entry points: in Schoden at the sports field, in Wiltingen at the Geispiffer hut, and in Ockfen at the fishing pond. From each of these starting points, the changing landscape impressions with vineyards, deciduous and coniferous forests, streams, mountain meadows, as well as magnificent views into the Saar valley and over the wooded areas of the Geisberg, can be explored. Special highlights of this trail are the viewpoints "At the Schleidkreuz", "At the Saar-Steep Slope", and "At the Heppenstein". The climbing tour at the Bockstein and a break at the Bismarck tower complete the attractive hiking offer.
