Klezmer with surprising timbres

The name of the new program already suggests a special mixture. And indeed, “Shtrudel with Cream” is musically anything but ordinary. 

Duo Adafina combines Yiddish songs, Hebrew folk songs, and music from the Sephardic tradition. This is supplemented by Ladino and tango songs, traditional klezmer pieces, and original compositions. The various musical influences have one thing in common: they showcase the diversity of Jewish music culture that connects across countries and regions of origin. 

The ensemble's lineup also contributes to a special sound. Instead of the classic klezmer clarinet, accordion, flutes, marimba, vibraphone, and percussion take center stage. Added to this is Shai Terry's voice, which gives the songs a unique color.

And what does the title actually mean? The “Shtrudel” stands for the swirling rhythm and joy of playing of the ensemble. The “Cream” is the cherry on top – Shai Terry's voice. Familiar songs will also be heard in unusual arrangements in a completely new way.
