Kidstour Obermosel and Sauer - child-friendly traveling in the heart of Europe
The cycle route runs always close to the water along the Moselle and Sauer. Mostly asphalted and separated from car traffic, the cycle route is largely flat and without inclines, making the route ideal for a bike ride with children.
In Konz, you cross the Moselle via the railway bridge and pass Igel, known for the "Igeler Säule" – a Roman tomb monument. In Wasserbilligerbrück you follow the Sauer Cycle Route on the German side before crossing the bridge to Luxembourg in Langsur.
On the Luxembourg side, cycle back to Wasserbillig. With the electric solar ferry "Sankta Maria II" you cross over to the German side of the Moselle and cycle downstream past the confluence of the Saar and Moselle back to Konz.
The start and end of the route is the town of Konz. Particularly interesting are the Roscheider Hof open-air museum and a great adventure playground directly on the Moselle bank.
From the parking lot at the main train station in Konz, cycle through Bahnhofstraße, through Maierspark, towards the Saar. After the pedestrian crossing, keep right and cycle downstream towards the Moselle. Behind the campsite, cross the Moselle via the railway bridge. Follow the Mosel Cycle Route upstream, past Igel and on to Wasserbilligerbrück. Here you stay on the German side and follow the Sauer Cycle Route to Langsur. In Langsur, cycle over "Wasserbilliger Straße" to the bridge. Behind the bridge, on the Luxembourg side, turn left and cycle back to Wasserbillig. Cross the Moselle by ferry (street: Esplanade de la Moselle).
Back in Germany, you reach Oberbillig. Cycle downstream, past Wasserliesch, towards the Saar estuary. Cross the Saar bridge and continue through Brückenstraße to reach the starting point at the main train station in Konz.
