Open-Air-Museum

At the Roscheider Hof Open-Air Museum, you embark on an exciting journey through time and learn how the people living along the Saar and Mosel rivers have lived and worked over the past 200 years.

A total of 4000 sqm of ethnological exhibitions from winemaking to dentistry can be visited in the historic exhibition building of the estate and in the forest museum. The large tin figure museum and the toy worlds will make not only children's hearts beat faster. In the building groups of the outdoor area, you can enter houses and farms that are furnished and equipped according to their use. Enjoy the scent of roses in the rose garden and the aroma of medicinal and spice plants in the adjacent herb garden.

Children's Rally:

To ensure that younger visitors do not get bored, experience booklets can be purchased at the cash register. Those who prefer a modern approach can download an app with a rally to their personal smartphone. Printed guides and a smartphone app are also available for adults.

Accessibility:

The majority of the exhibition in the exhibition building is accessible without steps (including via elevator), while the museum villages are located in steep and uneven terrain but can be reached via a new barrier-free path. There are steps in front of and inside the houses, as well as limited movement spaces in the rooms. A disabled toilet is available, and the restaurant and beer garden are on the ground floor. The Fascination of Things:

Explore the museum with the new museum app THE FASCINATION OF THINGS. The app tells stories about the exhibits. Sometimes it lets the things themselves speak, while in other cases, people from not too long ago tell what they were used for. Visitors can now gain entertaining and informative completely new insights into the collections of the Roscheider Hof using their mobile phones.
