Guided canoe experience on the Wiltinger Saarbogen
23. August 2026
The Wiltinger Saarbogen is the only remaining non-navigable and largely natural section of the lower Saar River.
It has been a nature reserve since 1997, featuring gentle rapids, still water zones, river meadows, wetlands, and reeds.
It provides a magnificent refuge for rare animal and plant species. Some of these, such as grey herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and even signs of beavers, we will surely see.
Why do beavers fell trees? Why do they dam rivers, and what is their favorite food? With a bit of luck on that day, they may show themselves to us.
Andreas Grauer is a certified canoe guide and forest educator with many years of experience both at home and abroad.
See you soon on the canoe expedition!
