One week hiking without luggage

Day 1:


Arrive at pre-booked overnight accommodation in the wine region of Ayl with its famous “Ayler Kupp” vineyard. Overnight stay.

Day 2:

The “Kollesleuk Switzerland” (22 km)

Your first hike takes you along the Saar through Saarburg to Trassem. Through the romantic Leukbachtal and the rock landscape of the “Kollesleuk Switzerland”, you’ll hike on to Orscholz (with the Cloef vantage point). Overnight stay.

Day 3:

Through the “Tabener Urwald” (22 km)

After taking in the stunning view from the “Cloef” of the famous Saar Loop in Mettlach, the journey continues through the “Tabener Urwald” nature reserve to Taben-Rodt (St. Michael’s chapel, collegiate church). Overnight stay.

Day 4:

Beautiful views (15 km)

The next hike takes you via the “Beautiful View” to Serrig, the gateway to Saar wine. From there the journey continues through Kammerforst to Saarburg. The mediaeval town will greet you with numerous sights. Overnight stay.

Day 5:

Sunny hillside vineyards (16 km)

You’ll hike through the wine region of Irsch to Ockfen with its famous “Ockfener Bockstein” vineyard. Along the geological nature trail, past the Bismarck tower, with stunning views of the Saar Valley, you’ll then reach Schoden. Overnight stay.

Day 6:

Along the “Knights’ Path” (20 km)

Through the vineyards you’ll reach Wiltingen, with historical winegrowers’ villas and the famous Scharzhofberger, and on to Kanzem, also known as the “Saar Wine Island”. Along the “Knights’ Path” you’ll reach Konz. Overnight stay.

Day 7:

Romantic Mannebachtal (23 km)

The final stage leads to the Roman temple complex in Tawern and on through the romantic Mannebachtal. You’ll make your way back to Ayl over the “Mohlems Kopf”. Overnight stay.
