Konzer Tälchen (population 1.708)
The picturesque Konzer Tälchen, a dry valley of the Moselle, is also home to the Konz wine-growing districts of Niedermennig, Obermennig and Krettnach. The first records date from 1148. The possible Celtic origin of the local name is evidence of the close historical development of these three localities. South-east of Niedermennig is the only remaining oil mill, a slate quarry stone construction dating from the start of the 19th century.
