Konz-Könen (population 2.313)
Könen is situated to the left of the Saar, not far from the Konz bridge. Roman and even Celtic settlement of the area was finally evidenced in 1996 through new archaeological finds. A distinctive feature of the main thoroughfare beside the church is a palatial residence, originally built as a presbytery. On the Saar is the partially protected old seigneurial mill, which has been wholly preserved. Könen also features a glider airfield. Due to its central location at the confluence of the Saar and Moselle, Könen is an ideal location for bike tours of the border triangle.
