6 days hiking without luggage

The hike leads through an idyllic section of the Moselle, one that is still a real insider tip. You will be met by a magical landscape with Mediterranean flair. When the Romans conquered this area 2,000 years ago, they must have felt right at home. The Moselle has carved out a wide bed for itself among the gently rolling hills. Abundant bright shell limestone rocks line the sunny vineyard hills. This is the home of the fresh, tangy Elbling. As it is only grown here, it is a much sought-after rarity. Just as in the Champagne region, an increasing number of Burgunder vines and red wine varieties also flourish in the shell limestone soils. The people are cosmopolitan and regard themselves as European: and small wonder. Luxembourg is directly on the opposite side of the Moselle and France is just around the corner.
